History of Sri Nagapooshani Amman Temple
Sri Nagapooshani Amman Temple was founded by KandaswamGurukkal in 1996. When he was doing Katyayini mantram in front of Naina devi in Himachal Pradesh, India, he saw the concept of starting a Naina Devi Temple which was one of the Shakti Peethams.
He then started the Naina Devi Temple, people came to the temple and only North Indians understood Naina Devi, the South Indians recognized only Nainathivu, a village in SriLanka.
Since Kandaswamy Gurukkal hails from the family that are caretakers and do pooja mainly for Bhavani Amman Temple, Periapalayam who is a snake goddess, a concept of Nainathivu Nagapooshani took form in Toronto, Canada.
Hence the temple turned into Nagapooshani Nagalingeswar Temple where Amman (Goddess Nagapooshani) sits with Nagalingeswaran (Nagathambiran) Bhagvan at the same time.
Our temple offers the only “Sitting shivan” in the whole world!
The temple was previously on Tapiscott and Finch till 2014 and now it is located on Ellesmere and Bellamy.
The temple has 10,000 square feet of devotional space, a banquet hall that can seat 150 people.

TEMPLE CLOSED FROM 1 PM TO 5 PM EVERYDAY, DO NOT RING BELL
